I'm Michelle. I'm 55. And I live in the United States, specifically Minnesota.
I like horror in general, but I rarely do extreme horror. I like to prioritize diverse authors, no matter what the genre, and so if I go the extreme route it's going to be with one of them since there's usually underlying commentary. I mostly do traditionally pubbed and would like to branch out, but I'm kinda picky about a good edit.
I'm currently reading Delicate Condition, by Danielle Valentine, which has been compared to Rosemary's Baby. I reread Rosemary's Baby earlier this year to it's interesting to compare.
My current favorite authors are Victor Lavalle, Stephen Graham Jones, Alison Rumfitt, and Rachel Harrison.
How's that?

Hi everyone! I'm Johanna, 53 and in Illinois, US (the next town over from where Carpenter set Halloween). I'm a sucker for folk horror, and anything rural, really. I'm a country girl, so those things just seem more realistic to me. Favorite books are probably the oldies Harvest Home, The Midwych Cuckoos, Carmilla, things that can scare the pants off you without getting gory. Favorite movies Midsommar (totally), the old Wicker Man, and just about anything set in a haunted house. Currently reading an ARC of the Truest Sense: A Collection of Horrors, short stories by Laura Keating - and loving it.

Hi! I'm Stephanie Rabig, a longtime horror fan thanks to my dad's mistake of having his Stephen King books on a low shelf. 😄
Favorite horror movies include John Carpenter's The Thing, 1978's Invasion of the Body Snatchers, Prey...authors are King (no surprise there); Jeff Strand, Alma Katsu, Ally Wilkes, Simone St. James, Stephen Graham Jones, etc. and etc.
I've written On Stolen Land (horror western); Playing Possum (creature feature); the Cryptids & Cauldrons series, and I hope to be a regular reviewer on this site!

Hello all! My name is Fritz and I am a current solo reviewer on celluloid consommé and Geek Vibes Nation, focusing on genre film like martial arts, action, horror and so on. Favorite horror films that best identify my tastes are The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, the Friday the 13th franchise, Hausu, Robot Monster and the Evil Dead films.
Favorite horror authors of mine include Stephen Graham Jones, Tananarive Due, Ronald Malfi, Garth Marenghi, Victor LaValle, Jack Ketchum, Ken Greenhall and Michael McDowell. I like to read King but I can't count him as one of my favorites anymore.
I am quite active on bluesky (https://bsky.app/profile/demondisk.gay) so if you're there come say hi!

I'm Jodie, a writer, artist and tinkerer who earns her bread making things and teaching things. I'm also an avid reader of horror, sci-fi and spec-fic...generally anything spooky, weird or just plain cool. My love affair with horror began 30-odd years ago when I filched my brother's copy of The Books of Blood (Vol 1 to 3) by Clive Barker. I was hooked and spent most of my teens reading nothing but horror fiction and true crime about serial killers. On the whole, I prefer the short story form for horror, as it packs a little more punch and forces the writer to make very careful choices. But I also love a good bit of meandering prose, if well-written. One of my absolute favourite anthologies is Cthulu Cymraeg: Lovecraftian Tales from Wales - I do enjoy the Lovecraftian genre. I could go on (and on and on) about all the great (and not so great) horror I've read, but that would take a book in and of itself. I'm sure you can relate.
Needless to say, I am happy to be here, and look forward to reading and reviewing some new horror writers.
