Readers of horror and dark fiction, get ready – the Chapter 3: Weston Horror Book Convention will take place at The Royal Hotel, Weston-Super-Mare on 6 September 2025.  This free-to-attend event involves over 40 independent authors from the UK and Europe and offers visitors an unforgettable, full-day experience.

Organised by the Indie Horror Chapter, these events are more than just book fairs. Readers can meet and chat with authors but also enjoy a host of other activities including Q&A sessions, an interactive charity quiz suitable for die-hard fans and newcomers alike, and more.

Chapter 3: Weston Horror Book Con follows on from the previous events – Chapter 1: Birmingham Book Con held in August 2024 and Chapter 2: Canterbury Horror Tales held in March 2025.

By public demand, Chapter 2: Canterbury Horror Tales doubled in size, featuring over 40 independent authors and visitors travelling across the UK and Europe to attend.

During the day, PA Sheldon read from his book, Fireside Horror. The author panels were back – Phil Sloman hosted ‘Psyched: The Twist and Turns of Psychological Horror’ featuring Mark Brownless, Leigh Kenny, DE McCluskey, Peter Caffrey and Benjamin Langley. The second panel, hosted by Graeme Reynolds, ‘There’s Something in the Woods’ included Matt Doyle, Matthew A Clarke and Jasper Bark.

Event exclusives were extremely popular, with readers surging to buy limited editions and copies of books not yet released. Alongside other fundraising activities, The Cunterbury Tales by Peter Caffrey raised a massive £2,859.67 for Lingen Davies Cancer Fund.

Readers also brought pre-loved books to donate to Catching Lives – a local charity supporting homeless people in Canterbury.
