Horror Promotion on The Ginger Nuts of Horror Website

Hey folks,

The Ginger Nuts of Horror is always looking for new ways to maximize horror promotion for horror books, horror movies, and more, going beyond the traditional review medium. Recently, I’ve been contemplating a wild idea that I believe might be a fun and engaging way to promote your creative works.

For years, I’ve maintained that sometimes the most effective strategy for promoting your horror book or film is to adopt a less conventional approach—essentially, not to focus solely on talking about it. I know this concept might sound outlandish at first, but let me elaborate.

In the chaotic landscape of horror promotion, countless creators are hustling to get their works noticed. Reviews are abundant, but the sheer volume of requests can overwhelm anyone. You might find yourself thinking, especially considering some of the criticisms floating around online, that reviews might sometimes lack value, and that sentiment can sting!

Nevertheless, there’s merit to that viewpoint. I firmly believe that rather than relentlessly pushing your project onto audiences, there’s a unique power in captivating them with your personality and creativity. By establishing an intriguing online presence and engaging with your audience on social media and horror promotion websites, you create an environment where potential readers and viewers can organically discover your work. When you share authentic insights and interesting content, you make it more likely that someone will take the initiative to check out your book when it happens to come up in conversation, rather than being bombarded with advertisements or overt promotions.

At The Ginger Nuts of Horror, we offer numerous avenues to promote your book, which you can explore here. However, in light of the evolving digital landscape—and considering that there’s an entire realm I’ve yet to fully tap into—I thought, why not delve into the world of video content? Experimenting with this medium might unveil new opportunities and strategies for horror promotion, helping us connect with audiences in a fresh and engaging manner.

Let’s embrace this journey together and discover innovative ways to scare up some excitement for our beloved horror genre!

Why don’t we give it a try? Here are some ideas of what we are looking for.

Horror Book or Horror Movie Trailers

If you have one, send it over, and we will pop it up.

Teasers and Behind-the-Scenes Footage

Not just for film makers. Authors, why don’t you give us a tour of your workspace and book shelves, maybe even talk about the music you put on when you write?

Readings:

Read from your new book; it’s simple enough.

Or get silly.

How about a video of you doing some skill that isn’t related to writing? Show us some juggling, bagpipe playing, dancing, or impersonations of your favourite author. Seriously, if you think people will enjoy watching it, send it over.

As with everything featured on the site, please include all promotional materials, a back cover synopsis, a film synopsis, links to any relevant website, a biography, a profile picture, and any other info you want to add to it.

If this kicks off, I’ll try to bring the Ginger Nuts of Horror YouTube Channel back to life. It was lost after the website was hacked last year, and I don’t have access to it.

Video sizes may be too large for email; I think I can receive 50mb files, so send them over via Dropbox or whatever sharing platform thing that you use and pop a link to it in an email to

jimmcleod@gnofhorror.com

If you are looking to feature in any other way on the website, check out the details below.
